As I see it, violence is neither a necessary nor a sufficient motivation or consequence of language acquisition. Many kinds of herd animals engage in combat over leadership roles, without the use of language, and many kinds of human groups make decisions about leadership and other social roles without violence. So Girard’s premise seems obviously incorrect.
