There was a civilization that practiced random human sacrifice,
chose angry, self-interested leaders who lacked empathy and humility,
required forced labor of some to kill others,
developed technologies capable of destroying itself,
and punished children for being born in the wrong place,
or just for being who they are.
We don’t know how long it survived.
