Good article. Unfortunately, many of us humans are both fairly ignorant and, at the same time, overly confident. Yet we often choose ignorant but over-confident people to lead us and make decisions for us that have enormous and dangerous consequences.

We have both huge structural problems and conspirators among us. And even the conspirators are largely incompetent in that their actions usually create unintended consequences that ultimately defeat their purposes. Examples are ubiquitous.
