Here I almost agree with you, except that seeing is a multi-stage process that includes our eyes as well as our brains. Maybe our brains dominate the interpretation of the information that our eyes provide. Or our brains can "see" things we touch with our eyes closed. But without some sensory input information, what our brains "see" can be constructed from other thought patterns in our brains. For example, I can "see" and "hear" a number that I choose to make up at random, like 2651843.
