I'm not sure if you are claiming that AI can translate faster than a human interpreter even when differences of language word order and ambiguous word choices are involved. I assume you are familiar with differences in word order between German and English, for example. I'm not sure how any translator can translate a sentence like this one, including pauses (indicated here by ...), smoothly in "real time":
"Sie ... machte ihm ... das Fenster des alten Hauses ... zu."
First, there is the pause after "Sie" leaving it temporarily ambiguous as to whether "You" or "She" or "They" is the correct translation. Then there is the use of the "zu" rather than "offen" at the end of the sentence, leaving it uncertain until the end whether the window of the house was "made" or "closed" or "opened". The sentence can't be translated correctly into English until the end is reached. Try typing it into Google Translate.
If a German speaker spoke it with an avatar supposed to say it in English at the same time, there would be inevitable time lags.
