It’s way more complicated than that
Just as his boss in the White House has delusions of achieving grandeur by solving complex problem simplistically, Elon Musk seems to have similar delusions. Based on successes in developing electric cars and rockets — expensive projects involving relatively simple technologies — he now thinks he can restructure the entire U.S. federal government by simple means.
Never mind that he botched his buyout of Twitter and that his own Tesla company is in financial trouble. He doesn’t seem to understand that people and large organizations of people are more complicated than simple machines, and that they don’t react well to being dictated to in ways they don’t agree with.
