That criticism is a symantic quibble over the definition of "intelligence". The value of Gardner's work is to describe in adequate detail the different kinds of mental abilities that people have, and to let everyone feel pride in their own mental strengths. For too long many people have been demeaned by not measuring highly on narrowly defined measures of "intelligence". Thank you for this summary, Fahim.
