There's a difference between language of experience and language of explanation. The clearest example I know is that we describe our experiences of "sunrise" and "sunset" as movments of the sun, but we explain them as rotations of the earth. Our descriptions of our minds are similar: Churchland's writing about mind is explanatory; most people's talking or writing about mind is experiential.
