We are beginning to learn the details of how our brains work their magic
Thoughts combine in people’s minds
and spread from brain to brain.
Attention gives them entry.
Comprehended they remain
as ideas we can contemplate
and “try them on for size”.
We carry out “due diligence”
to explore them, if we’re wise.
Our brains may deem thoughts plausible
and accept them as belief,
which can frequently be helpful
and bring feelings of relief,
but sometime proves misguided
and can lead us into grief.
Ideas grow in clusters,
attaching old to new;
some grow completely inside,
some catch ones from outside, too.
Let’s learn about ideas we have
and how they come and grow,
to gain better understanding
of what we think we know.
