You’re right. “Artificial Intelligence” is a very inaccurate phrase, but it’s a deliberately misleading marketing term that has been used for decades to attract funding. I prefer “computational cognition” as I suggested in one of my articles on the same subject.

Still, some systems of simulated neural networks have achieved impressive and disturbing results in face recognition and other kinds of pattern recognition.
